University Mental Health Support

  • CARE Managers: Care Managers are a centralized case management team that educates and connects students to a variety of campus and community resources to help them meet their needs. Students can refer themselves or be referred by faculty, staff, or a peer. The Care Managers accepts referrals, problem solves, and responds to student behavior identified as reasonably causing concern for students’ health, welfare, and safety.
     
  • Student Counseling Center: The mission of the University Counseling Center (UCC) is to create an inclusive space and provide high quality services that support the emotional well-being of Pitt’s diverse student body
     
  • LifeSolutions: LifeSolutions is the University of Pittsburgh's Faculty and Staff Assistance Program that provides a broad range of services to assist University employees and their household members to balance work and the stresses of daily life. LifeSolutions offers personalized care services, 24-hour support, online resources and tools, and more, all at no cost to employees.

  • Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: OEDI provides leadership and counsel on matters of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and partners with units and campuses to create welcoming environments that enable everyone to succeed.
     
  • Office of Inclusion and Belonging: The Division of Student Affairs’ Office of Inclusion & Belonging aims to build integrated, interactive, intersectional, and innovative ecosystems. OIB impacts the University culture, climate, and community. Through intentional programming, informative professional & policy development, and strategic student engagement, OIB is committed to staying aware of student needs, inspiring our stakeholders to do their work through a lens of Inclusion & Belonging and equipping our campus and community partners to see and serve the whole student with integrity and empathy.
     
  • Office of Compliance, Investigations and Ethics: The Office of Compliance, Investigations and Ethics promotes accountability and trust across the University. CIE provide guidance, investigations, and support to students, staff, and faculty, so that together we can support a culture reflective of Pitt's values.
     
  • Emergency Management Guidelines: A diverse team of Pitt professionals has developed Emergency Management Guidelines to provide a basic procedural framework for responding to any type of emergency at the University's Pittsburgh campus. These guidelines define an emergency-response command structure as well as the roles and responsibilities of Pitt individuals and departments during an emergency. The guidelines also outline the University's coordination with civil emergency-preparedness organizations.
     
  • Academic Freedom: At the University of Pittsburgh, we recognize the critical importance of fostering an environment that values intellectual pursuits, free inquiry, and open discourse, with academic freedom being a cornerstone.   • Year of Discourse and Dialogue: The Year of Discourse and Dialogue offers an opportunity to engage collectively on a broad range of ideas, programs, experiences, and opportunities to leverage the unique capacities of our University and advance learning.
     
  • All Angles: All Angles is a speaker and discussion series that offers students an out-of-classroom opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of contemporary public policy subject matter and learn how it is understood from the values and strategies that define a variety of perspectives along today’s political spectrum.
     
  • Campus Call: The Institute for Citizens & Scholars Campus Call for Free Expression is a commitment by a diverse group of college presidents to urgently spotlight, uplift, and re-emphasize the principles of critical inquiry and civic discourse on their campuses.
